Water treatment brings a unique suit of risks that are not typically a concern for other industrial clients. These facilities must continue to operate as they directly impact the community they serve and are often in close vicinity to that community.

MWS Risk engineers have worked closely with many water treatment facilities across Australia, and in particular, in the areas of fire risk management, fire systems and smoke extraction systems designs and performance-based solutions, safety systems and control systems for underground pumping stations.

MWS Risk has conducted many complex studies into the ignition of fire, movement of smoke through enclosures and underground caverns, and human behaviour in an emergency through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling and statistic analysis.

MWS Risk is experienced and qualified and has conducted many risk workshops and studies, including HAZID, HAZOP, CHAZOPS, RAMBO, CHAIR, and LOPA, for water treatment facilities.
